Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he has had enough of the comparisons with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi. It is widely acknowledged that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two best players in the world right now. However, many argue that Lionel Messi is a step ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in every department. It is also quite clearly seen from the records they both have achieved this season that Messi is better than Ronaldo. Lionel Messi has scored a world record 73 goals for both club and country this season, while Ronaldo is slightly behind Messi.
However, Ronaldo has come out with an outstanding burst of pressure by saying that he does not feel inferior to Lionel Messi. Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has said that Cristiano Ronaldo should win the Ballon d’Or award this season for his achievements, which has helped Real Madrid capture the title for the first time since 2008. Ronaldo finished only four goals behind Lionel Messi in terms of the league goal scoring, while he has also been extremely close to the Argentine in terms of the number of goals scored in the Champions League. Yet, everyone is of the opinion that Messi is much better than Ronaldo, which is truly not the case according to the Portuguese.
“We are different players on different teams. He is a magnificent player, and we’re always fighting – in a good way – to score more goals. All players compete with other players. It’s a good thing. I always try to improve and become a better player, but it’s not a competition with Messi. It’s something between all the teams and players. People always compare us, but it’s impossible. You can’t compare a Ferrari with a Porsche or a Mercedes,” said Ronaldo.
