Argentina are good on paper, but choke when it counts. You saw in game 1 of
this 2014 world cup. Only Messi was playing well. The rest of the team is
either too passive, lazy or just dont want it as bad as Messi. He deserves
better teammates.
I wonder if he can do it in 4 years time. He’ll be 31 and he’s evidently
burnt out as it is. I think he deserves atleast 1 World Cup or atleast 1
solid tournament where he plays like the Messi from Barca. I doubt it, but
he does deserve it though – it’ll definitely shut Pele up lol

Messi on this video.So sad…I hope he steps up soon…

Keepers are extra good against Messi in the World Cup apparently, and posts
aren’t his friend it seems either.
What people tend to forget is the fact that this was the first season Messi
played as a playmaker. Until then he played as a right wing at Barca aswell
and played some matches as a false 9. After the world cup Messi became a
real false 9/playmaker at Barca and we have seen how he has developed
himself after the world cup in these positions. Scored more goals then ever
and ended above Xavi and Iniesta combined when it came to assists. He was
only 22 at the moment, he had to play in a unknown position and still was
very decisive with his dribbles, shots and passing. He was great in the
2006 world cup while he was just 18. He was great as a winger, but even
better as a false 9/playmaker. He is now nearly on the top of his powers
and has a great team with players he has played with for 10 years, this is
Argentina’s biggest world cup chance.
