Many consider Barcelona’s Lionel Messi to be the greatest player in the world right now, but it seems that the young Argentine has Javier Pastore in mind when he is asked who the greatest player is. Pastore moved to French giants Paris St Germain in the summer for a reported transfer fee of around £35 million, and is widely tipped to become the next sensation in the world football. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi agrees that Javier Pastore could be the biggest player in world football in a few years.
Javier Pastore’s PSG currently lead the table and the player himself has been scoring a number of goals. Even though the French League is not on the same level as the Italian, Spanish or the English leagues, Messi believes that it will not be long before people start speaking of Javier Pastore as one of the greatest. Messi said that, whilst the French League cannot be compared to the other great European leagues at the moment, it was a good decision on the part of Pastore to move to France, and will give Pastore the chance to develop even more because he will be getting regular game time.
Regarding his fellow Argentine, Messi said, “I think playing in France is difficult, but this will help him. Pastore was wanted by a number of big clubs, but Paris are building a great team now and Pastore has great qualities. I am sure he will progress at PSG.”
Argentina will be playing against Colombia in the qualifying match for the South American teams in this international break. Colombia are expected to pose a significant threat for Argentina.
